Scott and Kim are involved in Social Venture Partners (SVP). SVP seeks to catalyze positive social change by: strengthening local nonprofit organizations through targeted investments of their partner's time, expertise, and money; and providing opportunites to their partners to become better informed and effective philanthropists. Scott and Kim strongly support the Morgan Adams Foundation after a friend lost her 4-year old daughter to pontine brain stem glioma. The Morgan Adams Foundation raises money and awareness on behalf of children affected with cancer. Working with leading physicians, they directly fund pediatric cancer research and therapies which will improve survival rates and reduce the devastating side-effects cancer treatments have on our children. Once a year, Team Sanford raises money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation by shaving their heads in solidarity with kids fighting cancer and family and friends give generously. The St. Baldrick's Foundation uses the donations to fund more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S Government.
